I was thinking the other day, just how lucky you are to have so many people who really honestly love you. Not just love you, but love you Olivia, as much as your momma does...and that is A LOT. Three of the greatest men I know, you have got wrapped around your little finger. And their love for you, is what is going to really make you become a strong, independent and confidant young woman someday. I am proud of who they have become, each and every one of them, because of you. So thank you my love, for making us all better, and more present, each and every day.
First of all, you have one heck of a daddy. He probably wouldn't admit this to too many people, but on the average, probably once a week, you bring tears to his eyes. He is so very proud of you sis, so proud. He tells you often, but he tells me, daily. You two have developed this bond that is beautiful to watch. Your time with eachother becomes more special, more fun, the older you get. And I can tell that you both have learned so much from one another this year. You get to do fun things with daddy, things that will become great memories for you to hold onto for the rest of your life. He takes you on mower rides, you help him "plant" things, and he lets you get dirty, really, really dirty, looking for worms. You do things together, that you can't do with anyone else, because he is your daddy. And even when you, yourself, are old and grey, you will still think of him as your daddy, just like you do today. And when you think of him, you will smile and think back on the memories you both have created.
Then, there is bub. He is carefree, nothing in the world has ever bothered him, good, bad or indifferent. But when you came around, you changed him too. The way he looks at you...when you say something funny, or sweet...he has so much love and pride behind his eyes. I don't know if I've ever seen him care so much about anything in his life, ever. You bring that side out in him. And when he stays over at our house, and you wake him up before coming in to wake up me or daddy...I hear you two playing together. And there is nothing that makes me happier. He is good with you, he is a GREAT uncle. He builds you forts and takes you outside to jump in the trampoline at 7:30 in the morning. He makes you waffles, and watches Disney shows with you. He wouldn't do that for just anyone Liv, he just loves you so much. Anyone can be an uncle, but it takes someone really special to be a Bubby...
And lastly, there is your Papa. He was the first man in my life, still is. And he is a good one. He is a loyal man, and a hard worker. He has a tough exterior if you don't know him. He's the type that won't smile in a picture, just because. But, you sweetheart, you can make him smile. You make his heart smile, and his whole face lights up when you are around. You two have a funny relationship...I tease you all the time that your spiciness comes from your Papa. You will say things to him, just to get him fired up. And he does the same to you. You will tease him, and give everyone else in the room a hug first, and really make him work for one. It's a game you play now, and it's funny to see you two together, because you really are so much alike. But as ornery as you are to him...every time we go over there, you will get your special house shoes on and disappear into the garage to go sit and talk to Papa while he is working on a car. This is something I used to do with him as a little girl. Keep it up O. Make time to spend with your Papa, sit in the garage, watch him work and ask him questions. You will learn more life lessons than you can ever believe, sitting there in that garage. And you will make your Papa one happy man.
You are a lucky girl, to have so many people that love you. So many people who would put your feelings ahead of their own, and want the best for you. You will never have to search for love, you will never have to worry if you are good enough or if you can do hard things. Because you already know that you are and that you can. You will always be told you are worth it, and you deserve the best. You can do anything in this world that you put your mind to. And you will always know this. We all love you baby girl, and we always will.
Love you to the moon and back,
Mommy
